2024 Activities & Events

Neighborhood activities are held throughout the year, helping residents to build relationships and promoting community cohesion. All residents are invited to attend our events.

04/23/24: Wagon Trails CID Community Meeting

5/24/24: Litter Patrol 6-7 pm

5/25/24: Spring Cleanup, Westwood Park, 8 am-Noon


General meetings are held on the third Tuesday of odd-numbered months. A social half-hour begins at 6:30 p.m. at which light refreshments are served. The meeting runs from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Board meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 7pm.

Eggstravaganza

Eggstravaganza - Come join in on the neighborhood egg hunt and various games including egg relays, bunny hopping contests and photos with Mr. & Mrs. Bunny. Event is held in Westwood Park the Saturday of Easter weekend and sponsored by business members and fellow neighbors.

Volunteer Thank-You Event

Early each year, we sponsor an annual Volunteer Thank-you Event to express our gratitude to the members of our neighborhood who spend their time on behalf of their fellow residents. This past year, we invited 50 West Plaza volunteers and their guests. It is a simple coffee-and-treat offering, along with a short speech by the president to honor those who have helped create, manage, and staff our many activities, and also to announce the Volunteer of the Year.

Spring & Fall Cleanup

Twice each year, Spring & Fall, we conduct Neighborhood Cleanup events, funded in part by the city of Kansas City. We provide an opportunity for neighbors to clean up their houses and yards, and at the same time, give the dozen or so volunteers and participating residents an opportunity to get to know each other as they work together to move the trash from neighbors’ vehicles into the dumpsters.

Art & Music in the Park

Saturday, September 21, 2024 - Art & Music in the Park are reunited again!


As it was in the beginning we will have one Park event this year! Both artists and musicians are invited to participate. More details to come!

Neighborhood Yard Sales

The Neighborhood Yard Sales are coordinated on a Saturday in June. Individual residents (usually about 20-25 of them) have their own sales, and the WPNA pays for ads in the Kansas City Star and further promotes the day on Facebook and on Craigslist to attract customers from across the city. We also post signs throughout the neighborhood the week before the event, and we create a flyer to promote the sales and encourage participants to distribute copies to their customers.

Trunk or Treat

Bring your kids of all ages out to enjoy trick or treating, pumpkin painting and games. There will be various trunks filled with goodies and a prize rewarded for best decorated. We will also have a Facebook vote for the best costume with prizes included. Event is held in the parking lot of our pediatric dentist's office located at 4410 Belleview Avenue. It is held the Sunday prior to Halloween the October weekend of the Fall Clean Up.
