What Does the WPNA Do for the Neighborhood?

The West Plaza Neighborhood Association:
Holds six general membership meetings during the year.
Encourages members, West Plaza residents, neighbors from other communities, and public officials to attend.
Announces the meetings through this website, our newsletter, on Facebook, and through Mail Chimp notifications to our members.
Provides a personal phone reminder to members of the association.
Invites guest speakers to present topics of interest, such as home safety, city services, and current events.

Neighborhood Events

Neighborhood Communication Tools

Communication tools include this website, the West Plaza Watch on Facebook, which was created in 2011 for the purpose of alerting participants to safety issues and as a central posting location for lost and found pets. It now has more than 1,000 active members. We also administer the West Plaza Neighborhood Association-Discussion Group on Facebook for conversation about more general topics of interest to participants. We use our Members and Friends of the West Plaza Mail Chimp list to announce meetings, activities, and safety alerts. Members of the WPNA receive a personal phone reminder about upcoming meetings and events.

West Plaza Neighborhood Association Newsletter

Our bi-monthly WPNA newsletter is written by members of the Board of Directors, edited professionally by a former Board member, printed at no charge by a neighborhood printer, and hand delivered to all 1,100 residences in the West Plaza by more than a dozen volunteers.
More Information
Among the many “invisible” activities that the WPNA engages in is attending hearings and meetings with city officials about topics that have an impact on our neighborhood.

Other invisible activities include ongoing maintenance of the finances, correspondence, communication, and membership records that any organization of our type must do.

Our seven volunteer board members meet once every month to plan and manage our various activities. We are an active board, happily lending our time and energy for the benefit of residents of our beautiful neighborhood.
